New Documentary on Ketamine Treatment | Lamar Odom

A new documentary featuring the famous basketball player Lamar Odom also features the revolutionary treatment Ketamine can provide. The documentary is titled “Lamar Odom Re/Born” and in it Odom credits Ketamine for his recovery from depression, anxiety, and addiction.

Lamar Odom and Ketamine

The documentary follows Odom’s recovery path after a near death experience in 2015. After overdosing on cocaine Odom suffered many heart attacks and strokes. He was found unconscious in a Las Vegas brothel and thereafter spent several days in a coma.

This near-death experience triggered a major life change for Odom. When he survived, doctors called him a walking miracle.

On Good Morning America Odom stated; “I went to rehab and did some other things, but ketamine came into my life at the right time”, he also said “I’m feeling amazing…I’m alive. I’m sober. I’m happy”. He plans to use Ketamine therapy regularly as part of his healthy living routine. Later in the documentary Odom continued to say “I don’t think I will stop it,” he said of the drug. “I wouldn’t want to try to stop”.

What is Ketamine?

Lamar Odom’s journey to recovery with Ketamine is just one of many success stories. The FDA first approved Ketamine in the 1970’s as a short-acting anesthetic. Ketamine is a synthetic drug, and during the 1970’s it became known as ‘special K’- a party drug wanted for its psychedelic effects.

After years of medical research Ketamine was found to be much more than a coveted party drug. Discoveries from research proved Ketamine to be effective in treating depression, particularly depression that is treatment-resistant.

How does Ketamine Therapy work?

Just as Ketamine therapy was immensely helpful in Lamar Odom’s journey to greater health, it can also be helpful for other individuals looking for healing in mind and body. Injected in small amounts, Ketamine gives an ‘off-label use’ for depression, anxiety, addiction, PTSD, and suicidal ideation.

Though patients will still be able to walk and talk, during treatment many will experience an altered mental state. Ketamine usually takes immediate effect and can provide almost immediate relief as well. After injection or infusion the effects will wear within an hour or so. Ketamine is most effective when used in conjunction with comprehensive treatment.

Suffering similar to what Lamar Odom has been through can be helped immensely with Ketamine treatment.
